I need to know much much I need to fill it up. Also, what fluid should I use. I'm talking about stuuf you find at an auto part store. According to the ford 5.0 refference guide, you should not use gear oil on the t-5. You should use ATF fliud. Is this true? I just bought some Lucas gear oil and I think I might have to return it.

here we go again, i use gear oil in mine and it works great, all these other people are going to say ATF ONLY!! only because they've never used gear oil, i think it takes a little over 2.5 quarts to fill it up

ATF works fine if you make sure its always full. I used Gearl Oil, because I need it thicker because its really worn, and making a really loud whining noise. Both work fine, if it has alot of miles i would go Gear oil but thats just my opnion

use synthetic atf....2 3/4 quarts...if your filling from the fil hole , you can't overfill it, but it's easier to dump it through the shifter opening.
then you have to count it...or pump it from underneath
