1988 Mustang LX 5.0 Chuggs

Im doing this just to be safe. I bought a 1988 Mustang LX Hatchback 5.0 that had been sitting since '08. Its has been driven maybe twice since '08. It has also had the same full tank of gas in it since '08. Could this cause the chugging problem? Any other ideas why? Helps appreciated!!

doubt it...............but drain and replace filter .......chugging is vague........could have a misfire due to aged secondary ignition components
