New clutch is slippin
I just installed a centerforce dual friction clutch, and i had the flywheel turned and put a shim behind it. I put about 300 miles on it with no problems. Last night I went to the drag strip. When I was running on motor it was fine. I put my 125 shot to it and no matter where I put the adjustment the clutch was slippin really bad. I adjusted the clutch where I could bearly get it into gear to make sure it was disengaging all the way. I got out of the hole very quick but about half way through second, its like I lose my clutch pedal, and it starts to slip. I was told by centerforce the dual friction was the way to go. They said it would hold up to the power no problem. I guess its another fun Sunday underneath my car. A C4 with a big stall is lookin better and better every day.

RE: New clutch is slippin
You said the Flywheel was resurfaced and you put a shim in? What shim are you talking about? Which Quadrant Kit do you have? Clutch adjustment is used for function not comfort. Once it is set properely you shopuld not need to adjust it for track conditions.

I had .020 taken off the flywheel, so i added a .020 flywheel shim behind it to bring the face of the flywheel back to the same location. I have the ford motorsort quad with firewall adj.
