Hey guys, after driving only european and japanese cars, i have finally transitioned over to american muscle

i am looking to buy a 5.0 stang but not sure what i need to look for on these cars, i specialize in volvos so this is new territory to me

i also plan on doing a lot of modifications to the car but still keep it as a daily driver.

lookin around a 90 or 91 manual

if any of you guys could help me out and tell me what to look out for on these cars, such as defects, recalls, ect.

also my friend is like a master mechanic and has modded many cars, he can fabicrate anything like exhausts, downpipes, ect. so he and i will be working on the car. so there is nothing we really cant do.

hey, welcome. i have a 1990 gt. the best upgrade for the money to get would probably be gears. the 3.73s seem to be good if its also a dailey driver. get some exhaust, maybe some pulleys. a free upgrade would be ripping out the air silencer. at the top of the forum there should be a sticky listing some first upgrades to do.
