90 GT w/ 331 surges with light throttle
I have a 90 GT with a 331Stroker, when applying light throttle it surges. I just bought it, the guy said it sat for 1.5yrs Im going to do a tune up plugs and wires. Just wondering if I should try cleaning out IAC, MAF and TB. Someone had tried to steal the car before and the wiring in the dash is all *****, Im getting a dash wiring harness and replacing it also a new steering column. The guy I bought it from put a toggle switch and push button start. I want a key back LOL....... Any advice would be much appreciated....

If it sat for 1.5 years with out running, then I would expect that all that stuff you mentioned would benefit from a good cleaning. As well as a new fuel filter, air filter and even some good fuel system cleaner.

It surged and sputters some with light throttle supplied at cruising speed, and now she doesn't want to get timing right I feels like runs like crap has no power.... I really need to clean the iac, maf sensor, and tb. Then throw the timing light to it

Well I cleaned MAF sensor(was nasty dirty), IAC(filthy), and TB(pretty dirty as well) when i got home last night.... I pulled the Electronic Wires to the EGR before driving her home yesterday(she was attacking really funny, no power back firing...running really rich. I did get a check engine light but she smoothed out completely with EGR harness unplugged. I couldnt find my timing light so i didnt start her and try the timing after I cleaned her. Got a timing light from work going to set that tonight..... Im going to start at 10' I run 93 octance in her, what in anyones opinion should i try setting timing too. I know Ive heard advance her out until i hear pinging then back off 2'....... Good info or crap info? thanks
