Still trying to figure out what to do to my cobra. I bought a rebuild kit with fogred pistons and had plans to run nitrous, then i decided to save up money for a 347 shortblock. A reality check was given to me by a fellow mustang owner when he said "If your not running a Race block, your hp limits are the same as if you had a 302, the 550-600HP range. and sadly enough he was true, now i know its easier to make the power with a 347 and i do want a car that will run high 12s or into the 11s, i dont care if its incosistent. Would it be wiser to take this money im saving for a short block (used of course) and get myself a nice set of NEW cylinder heads for my 5.0 and add nitrous or super onto that in addition to my rebuild with the camshaft? Will the heads in addition to the camshaft, forged pistons,70mm TB,Cai,MAFS and exhaust land me in the 12s with traction?

 

Hey dude I have been reading a tonne on S/C combo's lately Get a stock bottom end or even a 306 get all some nice heads ( AFR and such) a nice intake ( TF or EDEL) run a Novi or Procharger at like 9 psi all the knicks and crannies that go with it and you will easily be in 12's with some 3:73's and traction, do you have smog auto or man?

 

I dont have smog any more, and im working on killing the EGR when i get the delete moduel. so the whole idea of getting into the twelves Na isnt gonna happen is it? I know i need 4.10s, when ever i get them. its a cobra so its manual. I wanna get AFR heads badly but i dont wanna have to get new ones gotta go used.

Welll hard to say 12's are attainable get a 331 or 347 stroker kits with some AFR and a holley systemax intake you will be in 12's
