Default Help with forced induction

Hey guys so I've been looking around at going forced induction I found a full vortech kit on jegs (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/m20ProductDisplayView?pageSize=10&resultCatEntryTy pe=&searchTerm=&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&productId=79572&storeId=10001&sType=&pgGrp=searc ) Or the vortech kit on American muscle.com
Or debated on going with the on3 turbo kit what would you guys recommend? Any help is appreciated keep in mind this would be the first time that I'm attempting to do this so I don't know a whole lot about what is better. I've got a fair amount of mechanical know how

both will get you there, with approx the same performance, the plus to the vortech is you dont have to run custom exhaust componants

That's kinda what I was leaning towards but with the vortech do you have to run an intercooler?

No you do not need to run a intercooler but it's best that you do. I myself did the $1500 Supercharger build (while deployed to Afghnastain). I ended up spending $2170.00 but that's because I added some extra components (intercooler, Anderson power pipe etc). It's not hard man and if you need help I will gladly offer my services, no prob at all.

intercooler, with water meth injection is the best plan, it will keep your intake air temps low as possible and make the most power for the boost you throw at it

I didn't think so as I was thinking of adding the intercooler after I got the charger on and saved up for one lol but for that price with intercooler that's not bad at all Did you piece the kit together yourself? If not where did you get yours I think the cheapest vortech I've seen is going for like 3500
And thank you for your help and for your service I really appreciate it!

So what exactly does a meth injection do I've seen them before but never really understood what they do except keep intake temps down

thats basically what they do, they mist in a mix of 50/50 water and methanol alcohol which evaporates in the hot compressed air and lowers the intake air temps, this alone doesnt add power, but high IAT's cause the tune to pull timing to prevent detonation, this lowers power. so the lower the IAT the less timing retard on hot days = more power. in some tunes the timing can actually be increased higher that it normally would when using water/meth that allow you to add more timing without running race fuel, this will create more power.

yep, i installed mine and have been really happy, no more pulled timing on 80 deg days, all the power is there at all times, just like i like it
http://www.americanmuscle.com/snow-p...ce-stage2.html
this is the unit soldier and i are running AM has the best price that i have found, and if you contact the AM sponsor on this forum he will give you a code to get another 6% off of any order, i also mix my own water meth, i simply buy a 5 gal pail of methanol form a local oil supply company for $34 and mix it 50/50 with distilled water, so 10 gallons of boost juice costs $34 easy peasy

here is a link to a little write up on my install
