your car wouldnt run without rocker arms and to get the oushrods out you take the bolt out of the middle of the rocker and take the rocker off and the pushrods just comes right out.

wow im retarded, i was thinking of something totally different, i got the rockers and push rods out. But what about the timing gear, the chains run down to the smaller gear that the shaft goes through, it sticks out about 4 inches, i can see the threads inside it but it doesnt seem like it would just come out all chained up like that, sorry bout all the questions, im new to this. What exactly are the lifters? where are they? im getting so confused and feel like such a retard right now, but id rather feel dumb then do something wrong so. thanks for the help

No offense man but it sounds like you are in over your head a bit, try and find a manual with detailed pictures and follow it along. A cam swap is not that hard but it's not the best thing to try if you are not very familiar with engines.

yeah this one sounds like is not going to run, j/k you can do it just take your time, look at how it comes apart before you start taking it apart. hope this helps one thing you should do is make shure the motor is on TDC before starting, that helps a lot when putting the cam in so the dot is lined up right, and the dizzy to.

1: remove the fan
2: the rad
3: the upper intake
4: lower intake
5: the valve covers
5: the rocker arm bolts
6: the push rod
7: the bolts in the lifter valley for the lifters 2 of them
8: the lifter retainer
9: the lifters
10: the timing cover
11: the timing chain and gears, the bolt in the end of the cam can be used to pull it out
12: the cam
13: put it back togeather
14: chang oil before starting
