quik question does over drive give you better gas mileage? And why not gun it in OD?

way better gas mileage because I run 3 grand going 60 and 2 grand in overdrive going 60 because of my 3.73 posi rear diff ratio. I dont kno why you cant gun it in O/D. back to my question...

I found a C4 tranny on ebay. Tell me if this is a good offer. thanks,

c4 is is a three speed.(no overdrive)

you can't gun iit in o'd because the o/d band and servo are weak. when power is applied to them they begin to slip. heat up, and finnaly fail.

o ok so what kind of transmission should i get?

get a 99-2004 3.8 "4r70w"mustang tranny and have the internals put into aod with a lentech valebody and edge converter.

don't bother, just buy a lentech

a rebuild is closer to $1800

Convert to a stick shift tranny and buy your self a T5 and dont worry about O/D.... hehe thats just me.

well first any automatic needs a transcooler..I would try and find aode....they do have better lubing and clutch..a kevlar in OD is the ONLY way to go

so im still iffy on what im going to do. I wat a AOD and no 5 speed that would be to hard and cost to much.
