I got an offer
I have an offer to get a paxton supercharger that comes with everything i would need to install that i was told adds 100 hp for only $450. i have yet to see it, its a co-worker of my brother and he said its only got 200 miles on it and the only reason he's gettin rid of it is b/c he got a new motor and it doesnt fit the new motor. He said it comes with everything needed for install, except some bolts that he has the size written down to and a new belt. he has the directions and he put it in himself and it took him 2 hours. My question is does this sound like a good deal? What else would i need to install the blower. im thinkin bigger fuel pump and bigger intake mani, i dont have a lot of money, so id have to wait to get new heads and cam but does this sound like a good deal? And has anyone installed a blower before, if so, how hard is it?

RE: I got an offer
Paxton makes a great SC. It most likley is the NOVI 1000. Check to see if it uses a speparate belt or the same one all your othe accessories. I had the one that used the same belt and it was very hard to keep a tight belt.

check it out really close. $450 is way to cheap for a sc that only has 200miles on it....unless he is really good friends with your brother and is just hooking you up. make sure there is no play in it and make sure none of the induction blades are chipped. as far as installing it, it takes about 10 hours if everything goes perfect. i did my kit in 3 days because it didnt come with all the bolts and i had to stop for work and school. then after i put the kit in, i went super lean and blew the damn head gasket. so i ended up with no car for 3 weeks, that sucked.

$450 is super cheap, 1/3-1/4 cost depends which blower

RE: I got an offer
After i look at it and if i decide to get it, what else would i need, like a bigger fuel pump and bigger intake manifold? is there anything i would need to get? and also is it worth puttin a s/c on a car with stock motor w/104,000 miles, is there anything to worry about? and how bad do u think my gas mileage will go down, cuz this is my daily driver back and forth to work, which iso about 12 miles away so i need something reliable.

RE: I got an offer
If you still have stock fuel pump and injectors you will need fuel pump and FMU or injectors. The paxton kits come with FMU and booster pump. With 104K miles expect to have blow-by you may have to do some more crankcase venting.

RE: I got an offer
See first i was planning on waiting a while and gettin my motor rebuilt with new heads, cam and intake and then gettin the s/c, but i just got this offer that i dont wanna pass up but i dont know if the stock motor w/104k miles can handle a s/c and this is my only car so i need it to run good. I also dont know if i could install it myself, i would like to try but i cant be without a car.

Than just buy the blower (make sure nothin is wrong with it first), than build your motor and when the time comes for you to buy a blower you will already have it. You dont have to change your plans you just will have to wait to put it on. I would get it though. It everything operated properly I would jump all over that. Good Luck!
