cold air can help in reducing temps but its the upper and lower plenum that get hot so granted you try to pull in some colder air from the fenderwell it just gets heated up..by the time it makes it to the valves... so unless you throw a bag of ice on the plenum everytime you come to a stop.. not much you can do about it.. get a high rise..
and if your racing.. what does it matter how much you beat them by.. its still a win..?

Cowl induction hood will help keep the air under your hood a little cooler.
