Default Front Suspension

I am almost ready to get started on my front suspension so I need some suggestions. I am looking for a good street/strip suspension. I was looking at MM (Maximum Motorsports) because I know that they are the best but I was also looking into QA1. Im going to start w/ the K-Member and work from there. I would like to do most of the suspension MM but the MM K member is over $700 dollars so Im not going to spend that much. Do you think that I will have a problem running a QA1 K-Member w/ the rest MM? Anyone have experience w. this? Any suggestions?

Also, this will be going into my 88LX w/ a 351W.

are u talking about running a QA1 kmember and MM A-arms, etc? cause I doubt the mounting points will line up. MM changed the suspension mounting points to allow for better suspension geomerty, and the cancs of the two companies putting the mounts on the same exact spot is unlikely

I kind of figured that but I thought that I would ask. So none of the MM stuff is going to bolt right in right?

I was also looking at D&D but they are up there in price too. I think their K-Members are almost $600.

The reasoning behind that is, I also know that QA1 and D&D also have great suspension setup's. QA1's K-Member is $230 and MM is $700+. I dont want to pay an extra $470 for a name. Has anyone ran either MM, D&D, or QA1 setup's?

yes, the kmember will bolt right in. the MM suspension arms will not bolt right into a stock kmember though because MM moves thier suspension arm mounts to allow for better handling.

The extra $470 isn't for the name. The MM stuff is very heavy duty and more extreme. It's the least likely to break under any circumstances and will perform. The QA1 is your best bet for street-strip because it's the lightest and still strong for it's weight. It ought to offer some improved handling abilities but it won't hold up to the extreme forces of road-racing like the MM ones will.

I just got dont reading some good tech articles and now I know why they cost so much. I just need something that can handle hard abuse that will provide a comfortable ride on the street and perform well at the track. I wanted to do everything else MM but if you want to do everything else you have to do the K-member also so Im saving now and I will prob buy in the next week or two. Thank you guys. You really helped. And get used to the threads from me because Im starting my first build VERY soon and Im going to have alot of Q's! Thanks alot fellas.
