is there any vehicle out there that comes with stock 373 or 410's that i can go to a junk yard and take them out, and throw them in my 88gt? like a bronco or exploror or something??? any help? and how much more of a difference in acceleration would 410's be, rather than 373's? really noticeable???

you might be able to find 3.73's in a Bronco or F-150 with towing package. But I think you're then going to have to cut the axles down to the correct width.
Easier just to get the gears and install them. $500 well spent (plus you'll have new seals and bearings)

he wasn't talking about the whole rear end just the gears. Yes it is possible to find 3.73 in F-150 and Broncons, and 4.0L and up Explorers and Rangers. the only problem is that from a junk yard they will charge you anywhere from 200-800$for the rear end cause they won't sell it without you buying everythingand you can buy Motorsport gears brand new for like 169.00 or cheaper at swap meats. I Bought my motorsport 3.73's at a vendor brand new for 150.00$ at the world ford challenge and i could have bought as many 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10 as my heart desired.

Even if you could just get the ring and pinion.... Who would want used gears. That'd be a bad idea. Just bite the bullet and buy new ones. If you try and go cheap, you will get cheap performance.

i'd like to just get the ring and pinion out of a exploror or something, because i can get any part i want out of pick n pull for free because my brother works there, so its all free exept my labor, so i think it'd be worth a try, because i have like 308 gears in it now and its slow as s**t, and i want something a lil more snapy... if i go with 373's do i basicly loose first gear?
