Default AFR heads valve geometry?

Does any one in here know if the AFR 165cc heads have issues with pushrod length? Also, what washers/spacers are neccasary to install them on a 289 with 7/16 head bolts? Do you really need to run the Fel-Pro race head gastkets required by AFR? I have the 61cc. Thanks a lot !!

Luckythirteen do you have 1/2" head bolts or 7/16? I have a 289 and they use 7/16 head bolts and the AFRs are drilled for 1/2" bolts. I have heard of using washers or sleeves on the 7/16 bolts. Also, is pushrod length extremely important? Can I just get some in the ball park and adjust the valves to them? Right now i have E7 heads on a 289 and im using stock pushrods for a 289 not 302. What do you suggest i do about pushrods? Thanks for your time..

i know what you are talking about..afr's can be used on 351's so thats why you buy the head bolt retainers.
which are like sleeves...and yes it does make a diff on what your push rod length is...you can look it up on afr's site also.

Yes, it's VERY important to valvetrain geometry. You don't "adjust the valves to them" whatever that means. You have to mock up your valvetrain and get a pushrod length checker and measure it.
