TFS jumps into the CNC Game!
Just thought you 5.0 EFI junkies may want to know that TFS has taken their already good working 168cc as cast head which finished 3rd in a head test only to the Large FRPP "Z304" head and AFR 185 head by a minimal margin has been treated to a CNC port job for you out of the box performance guys and girls. These heads now flow even better nunbers!!
IN .100 70 cfm EX .100 56 cfm
.200 146cfm .200 112 cfm
.300 216 cfm .300 150 cfm
.400 258 cfm .400 192 cfm
.500 287 cfm .500 220 cfm
.600 301 cfm .500 231 cfm
Check out the March issue of MMFF (pg 112) and also note how well the less than 9.0 to 1 compression 331 stroker did with these street heads and note how well the Box R TFS upper did with a 90 mm Throttle body.
Who knows for sure but the AFR 185 cc heads just may have to take a back seat to the 185 TFS heads given they have a more efficient combustion chamber and with the valves rotated in the chamber it helps unshrouding at the cylinder wall. Looks like these maybe an even better street head for the 5.0 and 5.8 liter crowd. Just thought I would share the info.
If my memory is close, I think these heads are 20 cfm better in air flow than the AFR 185 and both have the same size ports. I bet theses are going to rock! I have built several 5.0 liter engines with the AFR 185 heads for Clients with great results. Now I can't wait to give these a try. Given my experience, I would suspect these will better the AFRs for power.
