speedometer cable ahhh! help!!
so yeah my speedo wasnt workin so I looked and found that the cable was all tore up from being too close to the headers. So I installed a new cable (which was kind of a bitch) and it still doesn't ****ing work ahhhhh! Is something not pushed in all the way????? I pushed really hard on both ends and made sure it was secure. The only thing I can think is the speedo gear was a little chewed up and I just put it back in for the time being till the new one arrives, would that cause it not to work at all?

RE: speedometer cable ahhh! help!!
It should've worked, you're speedometer may have headed south. I had to get mine rebuilt in the convertible when I first bought it, it's going to be about 100 bucks to get it rebuilt. But I'd check out other things first.

RE: speedometer cable ahhh! help!!
my speedo went out on my with my 89 gt, so i stuck my hand up into the dash and had a pain in the but time undoing the cable, but i found out that if you get an electric drill, put it on the engine end of the cable and throw the drill in reverse, you can roll back some serious miles. I dont recommend doing it though, its illegal. LOL

your speedo gear bein bitched up but might be it, but i'd tr installing it into tha tranny again, when i did my gears and put the new speedo gear in i pushed it in real tight and bolted it in and it still didn't work. so i did it again and it worked.
