Ok, I went to the local performance shop. He said he'd build me a complete shortblock for around two grand. Recommended AFR CNC heads, and said that it may be in my best intrest to go back to a carb. Thoughts on the carb?

That'll be the heads I'm going to run on my stroker. And lately with money, I can't decide whether to keep the EFI or get a carb, really.

Did you build your shortblock, or have it done? Im not afraid of engine work, especially outside of the car. But I dont know how confident I am in assembling the shortblock. Balancing everything and whatnot.

I built mine. Balancing should be done by a professional. If the car is already Fuel injected, I would stay with it. If you do not plan to use forced induction it will be easy to stay under 500 HP.

It should be built, by me and a friend, this weekend. I clearanced the block myself, too. Find a good book and read read read. The only machine work I've had to pay for this whole build was the balancing, which was $165.
