Default 94 GT Overheating

Yesterday I went for a ride in my mustang in it overheated a little more than half way, and sometimes just as turning the car onfor the first time in the day it shows low coolant in the dash but i check and its full. Can it be the thermostat, should i get a bigger thermostat, what would you guys recommend for the car not to over heat at all??

Default RE: 94 GT Overheating

First off, check for leaks. Second I would flush the entire system by running water through the radiator and the block, but not for more than a few minutes. (however long it takes to completely flush the system.) Then refill with brand new coolant and distilled water. (50/50) Finish it off with a new radiator cap. If that doesn't fix your overheating problem, then replace the thermostat with a new one. 180* or 195*... If that doesn't fix it, replace the radiator hoses.
