Default How to prime?

I have no real money to invest into my ride right now but its kinda lookin like a FrankenStang. So i wanna prime it but im not sure how to do it. What kind of sandpaper do i use, rough or thin, dry or wet. Do i take it down to metal or just take the shine out of the paint thats already on there?

If you are just going to rattle can it, hit it withsome 220 wet or dry paper just to take the gloss off and spray it

Just use 320 dry then hit it with a spray gun. It will take forever with a rattle can.

You could also just use a scuff pad.. Does the same as sandpaper but will last alot longer.. Then theres no need to get a new sheet of sandpaper.. Same grit as said above...

I agree, you dont need to take it down to metal. Just make sure you get all the wax and contaminates off the paint. Wipe it down with some cleaner before you shoot the primer.
