Default injector swap

today i was swapping my fuel injectors in my mustang thats been sittin for awhile. so i got the fuel line un-bolted and everything and it was hard as heck to get the injectors to seperate from the intake or the rails. so i pulled hard and 6 of them stayed in the rails and the other 2 stayed in the intake but i got them out. so when pulling them out two of the little plastic caps on the bottom of the injector got stuck in thelower intake manifold has this ever happend to anyone else? how should i try to get them out? i sprayed some wd-40 in there and im hoping they will just come out easy tomorrow.

Do you mean teh o-rings got stuck or the inejctos actually came apart and got stuck in there?

Yeah, it does take some effort to get those out. I just gently rock them while twisting.

To get the caps out I normally just use a pick and poke it through the center of the cap and pull it out. Normally I take the intake off it that happens so none of the plastic falls in the motor.

If it's the o-rings then it's no problem. But if it's the caps then be careful! a piece breaks off or falls in or something like that and it's gonna be a pain in the ***.

After you get them out I would get a new seal kit for all of them if they are the factory injectors. Usually after a good cleaning you won't have to replace them unless you are going bigger. When I tore down my engine, I had a couple with busted pintle caps and bad orings so I serviced them all.
