You should have got some shims with the rockers. Did you make sure they had the correct preload or just bolt them on? Check the wires 1st, then look at the preload.

Guys, thanks for all the help. I just went out and swapped the wires. She's purring smooth! To answer all you questions, I did zero lash and torqued them correctly. I had to shim 3 or 4 I think. I am mechanically able to follow the directions, so it was driving me up a wall. I kept thinking that I did nothing wrong. I had to be something simple. Well, there you go.

I am very familiar with DOHC and SOHC Neon motors. And distributerless ignition systems. I've done it all with those motors, rebuilds, head swaps, cams, turbos, nitrous, and complete tear down rebuilds. I'll start getting more aquainted with pushrod mechanics. Thanks again!

 

Well... there's your problem... to many spark plug wires, you got lost after the 1st four
Good that it was a simple fix.
