Default RE: Hello new guy with questions

u dont necessarily need to put forced induction to get to 400 whp
im hoping to get around there when i finish my 347 stroker, and it'll be all motor.
however like everyone said usind a turbo would get u there easier and cheaper.
my budget is around 8k and that includes motor w/ supporting mods, suspension, drivetrain, and some rearend stuff.

but if it were my id go with the cobra.
thats my dreamcar however so ofcourse id lean more to that than a foxbody

If you can afford a Cobra, that's the way to go. Easy to get to the 400 number.

Yeah, you can do it on a 5.0, but all the money you spend to do it is up in smoke. The Cobra will do it almost stock, so you won't lose the money you'd spend on upgrades on the 5.0.

Example, I just bought a '93 LX hatch, one owner, 45,000 actual miles. NEVER winter driven. Added up the cost of all the add-ons. Came to over $16,000! That's JUST add-ons! I paid $8,000 for the car! It was so nice, it would have brought that or more stock. So, the guy LOST $16,000 on the car, not counting the normal depreciation.
