good headers for 95 mustang GT
I have a 95 Mustang GT, i have a magna flow catback exhaust, my x/y pipe is still stock and obviously so are my headers. what would be a good combo of headers and x/y pipe for my mustang to go with my magna flow exhaust?

RE: good headers for 95 mustang GT
so do i need mid pipes? cause the thing that confuses me is that i see shorty headers, full length and i think equal size headers. Like what kind of length would i need if i got the bbk x pipe?
And thank you by the way, merry christmas

u dont need midpipes. but there inexpensive and if ur under there might as well do it.
shortys come in two lengths, shorty's and equal length shorty's, they both bolt up at the same location,
just the equal lentghs have more piping in them, so that the pipes off of all 4 cylinders are all the same length.
if you buy full lengths you will need new midpipes.
but there more expensive and dont give u much more power.
as far as brands theres many.
good headers are summit, bbk, and mac.

You need shorty headers to work with your stock mid pipe. Whether you choose equal length or unequal length is up to you, they just must be shorty headers. You can also buy a new aftermarket mid pipe that flows better than stock with your new shorty headers.
If you want the max performance and plan on doing big upgrades (and don't have to pass a strict emissions test) then you can opt for the Long tube headers, and a matching mid pipe for the long tubes.
EDIT: Merry Christmas to you as well! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

The stock headers and mid pipe (with 4 cats!!) are very restrictive. So to answer your question, it makes the car rev and just run smoother overall. You don't gain much in the numbers aspect, but it makes the car sound better, and makes it a lot more fun to drive IMO.

RE: good headers for 95 mustang GT
Do the full exhaust all in one shot. You'll be thankful you did because it makes the full install MUCH easier. Most of the time, exhaust bolts are rusted to hell and tend to be a pain to get off. If your doing it all at once, you won't care if a bolt snaps or if you need to just cut the old one off.
As for good headers, I like my ceramic coated equal length shorties from BBK. They look nice, added a nice tone to my exhaust, and picked up a decent amount of power.

Thanks guys, ill keep all that in mind. Ill look up your suggestions and figure which would be the best for my car. One thing i forgot to mention is that my car is an automatic...I plan to change it to a 5 speed on day, what im saying does the x/h pipe fit both auto and manual trans?
