Default Cam Question

Curious as to what suggesions i could get from you guys. Going to be running AFR 165's and TFS Track Heat intakes. I've heard the stock cam is still good for me but i wanted to get as much hp as i can and sense im gonna have the motor apart why not change the cam out to match right? I was told the TFS Stage 1 was good but i cant figure out which one that is actually. Thanks guys!

If it's a 302 then the stage 1 is good but if you are looking to sound good and make some more power check stage 2.Also call Comp, Lunati, Crane, etc and see what they have to say. Iam using a Comp XE274 cam and it works well and sounds good also.

And both of these will work on the stock rollers? Or should i change to 1.7's? Also whats the main difference between the two?

Yep stock rollers are fine..heck I ws using stock rollers for a xe282 hr cam =565/574 lift..but I'm upgrading them here soon for my 347 and stick with 1.6's you'll be fine

Always a good idea to switch to roller rockers, and your afr heads might be stud mount so you might have too anyways, but with a tf stage 1 cam you will need to use 1.6 ratio rockers if your using stock pistons, and you will have to measure and get new hardened pushrods.

tfs cams are ok. alphabet cams are junk. if you want off the shelf you cant beat Anderson Ford Motorsport cams. im on my 3rd grind and they are just get better every time i get a new one. i ran the n-41, b-31 and am currently running the b-41 hi-rev, its sic. i picked up 17rwhp from the b-31 just on motor, almost 30rwhp on the sauce. driveability is really good considering the size and the power band is awesome motor screams around 3500 and pulls clear straight to 6500.
