My buddy gave me a 96 cobra bassani x-pipe, he said it would fit with few modifications, i took my stock one off and there's a couple of things different from the the other, like one of the flanges has to be changed to ball flange and the hanger braket has to be moved foward. It also dosent have the smog tube, I wanted to know if i could eliminate the smog pump temporarily and when its time for smog just put it to work again and put the stop midpipe. Can i plug the smog pump and let it run.

 

You can remove it completely as long as you are not running cats because some say it will clog them, if you want you can just put cats back on for emission time, at least round here they dont even check for a smog pump and not having it wont ruin your cats if you only have em on once every two years for an hour. Thats what i was doing before i got exemption plates.
