new idle issues
it works by setting the butterfly valve at the correct position. did it idle correctly before he messed with it? if it did he most likely set it to far in. have some one help you by starting the car and feathering the gas so it doesnt die and adjust it back out tell it idles on it own then set it to the right idle speed.
i would also run the codes it could be in your choke or it could be your map sensor. this is the one on the fire wall that all the vacuum line come off of. i have had 2 dif. cars do similar things to me one was a vacuum leek in the lime from the map sensor to the throttle body. the other car the map sensor was bad. the map sensor are spendy so before you go buy a new one run your codes. i got my new map sensor from a pull yard for $3.00 new it was like $300.00.
Pull your codes first. Here is how my code readerworks. First test is koeo, There are two plug in connectors near the drivers side fender connect them with out the key in the ignition and the test should start after you turn the key to the on position, then do the same thing with the koer test except this time start the car, write down the number of audible beeps or light flashes to find out what codes she is throwing.
Checkthe tps out, see what the voltage is set at. Take Pro's advice and get your injectors tested to make sure they do not leak, see if you can get a fuel pressure regulator and see what your fp is with the vacuum pulled off. should be around 38 to 42 I believe.

Have you tried something as simple as running some seafoam into your vac lines on the firewall. You can also add a can to your gas tank too. It cleans everything out and makes your car run much better. It helped me remove lots of carbon build up. Its best to run your engine and let the vac lines suck it in and then let your car run for about 10 mins reving a little bit every few mins. Lots of white smoke and carbon drip but when the white smoke clears, youll be happy you did it. Best to do in a parking lot or something away from a residential area. Unless your neighbors are cool with you revving.
