RE: cam and heads question for my 88 gt
usually most shops charge around $200 to pull the engine atleast around here, you will have to pull the engine to install a cam.as far to put on heads and cams, that will vary on the shop, spending the extra $ to make sure the cam is dialed in right or your car will be worth it or it will run like garbage. i'd just call around to some local shops are ask.

i think it would be more like 1000 just for the labor to pull a motor and throw in a cam and heads.
but i didnt think you had to pull the motor, just the front bumper and radiator should be enough.
and thats much better.

The luxury of working on a Mustang is........an everyday Joe garage mechanic can do it It is not like the new cars where you need special tools,schooling.......and a hard working knowledge of electonics......
Get yourself a torque wrench, a manual, and follow these directions:

I did it all myself, and my experience before that was strictly bolt ons (Suspension, exhaust, etc)...........and she runs AWESOME!! Worst case scenario, get it halfway done, and then bring it in........it will save you some $$ in labor............that is if you don't screw it up too bad
