hey guys! Just a quick ?I ordered trickflow's 360 horsetop end kit, i was just wondering how much power will a stock 5 speed t5 handle b4 u should start makin changes to it? I already have the centerforce df and a fidanza flywheel if that helps to! Any help is much appreciated thanks in advance.

 

A guy I know has an '88 LX with a h/c/i 306 and a blower and has a stock T5.
The car has 4.10's and runs 11's.
He thinks the car has about 500 hp.

 

Alot depends on the driver. I have a buddy who power shifts his with a 175 shot running 11.0's. Just use it till it goes.

 

It all depends on how you abuse it. I never powershift mine so I am hoping mine will hold up until I buy a better tranny

Don't worry about it, either way you're going to have to end up replacing it someday...

 

Power itself is not going to kill it. Aggressive driving can even break most T5.
The ultimate demise of a T5 is torque and traction.

 

one of the best ways to keep a t5 is no hard launchs with sticky tires and buy a nice aftermarket shifter with stops on it so you dont over extend the gear changes breaking and bending internals in the process
