Well something is very fishy about this scenario, my car would be in the hands of the Police Internal Affairs Department and so would a polygraph and a lawyer up so far up someone's **** it wouldn't be humane.

Some police officers have mental issues from stress, no sleep and the threat of being fired if they don't produce fruit.
