I currently have BF goodrich drag radials 235/60 15s and have traction problems. Wondering what the biggest tire I can fit under an 88 would be. Any problems with 275/60 15s?

I ran a 295/50/15 Hoosier Quick Times on 15x8 Pro Stars with 4.5" BS on my 92 and didn't have any issues.

depending on the back spacing you have a 275 50 15 would be ideal which is equivalant to a 26 inch tall tire

^^ and if you cant get traction on a 10.5" tire.... you have other problems

Any suggestions on what other problems I might have?

I am currently running a 235/60 15tire which is a 9.5". I have tried launching anywhere from 4,000 to 2,000 on the transbrake, to feathering it off the line with no transbrakemy best 60ft yesterday was 1.7 not using the transbrake and it still spun. I am running adjustable upper and lower control arms, steeda drag springs lakewood drag struts and shocks, welded in subframe connectors, & torque box reinforcements. Istarted with the tire pressure at 15psi then 12psi then 10psi no difference at all.The first couple times out with the tires they hooked pretty good, but that was with a 5 speed but I was launching at 3,500+. Last week I got a couple good launches but yesterday all it would do was spinI got 5 runs in tried both sides of the track it was the same. . My best run yesterday was 1.7 60ft and 11.9 @ 111mph. Every other run was a 1.8-1.9 60ft 12.1-12.2 at 110.

damn those are some decent times what kind of motor setup do u have?

and i would say 275's with a 4.5 backspace will require some pounding as i have 275's with a 5.5 backspace and they are about a half inch off the inner.

well i have a set of micky thompson e/t street.
28 *13.50 LT15 will them fit under a 92 mustang gt?

perhaps your problem is the TYPE of tire you are running. BFG drags arent exactly the stickiest drag tire out there.

Consider a set of MT ET streets, the bias ply ones
