ok my car is an 89' lx that was a 4 cyl swapped to a carbd 302, it has power windows and they have been fine until my battery died the other day and now the window won't go up, what should i look for ( i have already removed the door panel and nothing is loose or disconnected, could it be a bad switch or is the motor gone, can it just be converted to a roll up?

also my car suddenly has a monter exhaust leak, on the passenger rear side of the block the EGR hole is completely open, i think that the previous owner had it blocked off but whatever was in their must have rattled loose and fell out. what can i do about this, is there some kind of plug that i can put in to block it off?? any help with either question would be great!!
