would this be possible
I'd want the ones that that cam reccommends as the duration is different than the f-cam......or to use the springs you have go with an f-cam, i HAVE THOSE SPRINGS ON my 92 with an f-cam...the comp cam is a little more optimal with a dual pattern duration
no new valves seats. i know they need hardened seats but my budy at the shop says you can have 1.94 and 1.6 valves AND new seats at the same time. but he said with the upgraded valves and it just being a weeknd fun car....it will last years without issues.
and i have a friend with '65 289 heads on his 302 in his falcon and fairlain and they both put up impressive numbers 300+ range n/a

....well as why are things done, then like I stated on the older heads the spring pockets may not be wide enough so that's why the spring pockets would need to be machined to accept those springs, not saying they will but it can be a possibility, your machinest will let you know also also the seats on older heads were for leaded gas and to run on todays gas you need hardened seats as the leaded fuel lubricated the old 60's soft seats and on todays gas with out hardeded seat you'd beat them to death
ok ok, i see. ok so a few scenarios i have questions about
1) i get a new cam, use same springs, but lets say an f cam? what would be the difference in power between the f cam and the comp cam?
2)get the new comp cam, but use it N/a with my current springs so no worries of the nitrous just yet.....but when i come around to using the nitrous i'll swap out to the proper spring set up.
3) stay with what i got, upgrade heads using current springs and cam and just wait till its more affordable for me to upgrade.
which would make more sense?
just to let you know, i dont mind tearing the motor apart because its still a learning experience for me even though i've done it 5 plus times now on various cars. i still like to do it.
but regardless the motor is going to come out this fall because i have to rebuild tranny, and fix some rust in the engine bay, so shes coming out. nitrous wont be a factor until next year sometime in the summer.
