i just removed my wires from the dizzy and noticed they are croded and shot so since i already have a set of new ford racing wires ill replace the wires and dizzy cap. my question is i just ordered fro 50resto alot of stuff for my stang and one of the stuff is a ford racing cap is it the same or better/worse than a msd? they are the same price 25$ so if msd is better ill just buy another set and sell the ford racing one

your not really got get any hp or torque just from a cap but I have 3 yr.old ford racing wires and an msd cap and my car runs fine

 

Paying for the name.. I think they have the same materials and everything, just name and color.

 

yeah im not looking for hp gains i just want to know which one is better since they are the same and mine needs to be replaced so thanks and ill stick with the ford racing i ordered

 

Yeah its all the same really. I got an MSD a while back because I wanted it to look flashy, but ended up painting it black later lol.. Theyre all the same. I got mine because the Autozone by my houses sells the MSD for 3$ less than Summit

 

i bought the msd just for the look really. your paying for the name.

 

The only thing about the msd's are the brass terminals. It lets the power flow thru the cap better. Not really that big of a help.
