so yeah, the cyluinder walls rusted while i was waiting for the new bearings, its not bad, but its not good, bunch of little rust spots, question is, im guessing i have to hone it again, correct? if so, what do i need to do it?
will it actually hurt anything? theres quite a bit, but id imagine it come off and get burned off fast enough... probably not worth the risk though huh?

It just depends on home bad the rust is. If it pits the walls thats not good. Get some WD40 and spray the cylinders, let iit sit a few hours and try to scrub it out. Depending on what rings you are using as to what grit hone you should use to rehone the block. I'd use a ball hone on that one. Oil it up good when you are done and wrap it up in a engine bag. If you don't have an engine bag you can wrap it in cling wrap like you use in the kitchen. I keep three rolls of that stuff in my little Cyl head shop to keep blocks and cast Iron heads wrapped up in. Keeps the dust and dirt out of it as well.
This is my Red Neck Garage (AKA The Man Cave)where I keep and work on my own car at home. If you look in the corner you can see the engine for my car wrapped up ready to set in the car. It's wraped in Glad Wrap. It keeps, dust, dirt and rust away from it.
