i want to do this while im still in college. i wouldnt mind taking some courses for maybe a year to get at least one or 2 certifications done. its hard to get a job working as a mechanic around here without any education or experience, so i figure if im taking classes for ASE cert i can use that to get an entry level position

If that was the case (which it isn't) you still have to pass the test.

as stated before, before you can even take the tests and there are 8 to be a Mastertech and then there is the L-1 to be certified in advanced diagnostics, anyway you need 2 years hands on before you can even register to take the tests, as far as ASE and what it does for you....LOL on here nothing, it just gets the hecklers to jump of the fence and throw rocks at you. in the real world and can open the door to job placement

My friend and I are taking the steering and suspension one this weekend. It's 6 bucks to take.
