What kind of thread sealer did you guys use on the studs ?

just go to your local parts supplier..ie napa, autozone..ect ect, we used permatex's thread sealer = white in color and like a paste almost

That is the same kind of sealer I used when sealing my head studs. Most engine builders around my area use the stuff. It's a good quality product. I also like to use the right stuff over any other RTV on the market. I find it to be the best. My Father swears by it in his mechanic shop.

I'd use the gasket alone with no sealer. On the threads for a stud girdle you can use RTV but for things like that I like a using teflon paste.

The girdle covers look sweet. You should go that route. I just replaced the gasket on my stock cover since it was leaking and I lately realized its still leaking. I just used a gasket from autozone, maybe should have added some sealer. Whats the purpose of those support studs on the girdle?

Would the ARP sealer be alright ? It's kind of gritty, would the grits chew anything up if they get into the gears ?
