Gears?

no so the case^^^^^^^^^^talk to pro50sc , i JUST INSTALLED A set in his 5.0 and it's s/c and he drives it alot on the highway as well as the track, put the right size tire on it and set the drivetrain up accordingly and it'll be fine..........you wanna run top end fine, around here we race the 1320....all that talk about running your car up on top end and doing it on the highway , then you make the comment about if the cops catch you they confiscate your ride..... gimie a break your talkin out both sides of your mouth..........only place for 3.31, 3.27's is in a turbo car, 3.55's = marginal gear, had such in my 66 with a t-5 and at 65 = 1900 rpm's, wasn't as quick down low as it could of been with more gear as there would be a slow bog, = very slight when shifting into second at the track as it'd drop below power band.......only place for 3.55's is in a road race track....and if you wanna use the mpg argument wtf you using a 5.0 for a d/d.......street strip car no less than 3.73's and 4.10's are even good...I thought like you until I put a set of 4.10's in a few cars without the ill effects you claim.

ya' kinda like the 347 burns oil myth racing is racing, abuse is abuse , you are drawing an erroneous conclusion on the reason it'll belch smoke, ......the motor irregardless of what gears are in it will fall flat at the same rpm based on the internal parts constraint, all the gears do is help the motor reach max potential rpm quicker.
