306 with GT40P's
budget build, so, as cheaply and simply as possible, would a 10:1 306 with port/polished GT40P's, and either an E-cam or custom ground cam and other supporting mods, do you think 320-340hp is doable? i can get a block and those heads for fairly cheap. in my area you cant find used aluminum heads, and even if i could, i dont know if id trust getting a used set of heads unless i knew the car was taken care of and didnt overheat at anytime. its the setup i have running through my head right now, so, just thought id get your alls opinions on the matter. thanks.

You should net over 300 WHP without a problem, 340 might be a stretch but it depends on how aggressive your tune is. Used parts can be great for a budget, or they can be an absolute waste of money. That being said, new products can fail as well, but at least then you can make a warranty claim to the company. I would save up a little more cash and buy new.
Hope that helped

when i said 320-340, i meant at the flywheel. i didnt mean rwhp. i mean, i know the heads and tune would be the only limiting factors. its a daily driver, so i dont want(need) anything too radical. i didnt know what the power potential of the GT40's were so thats why i used the flywheel numbers. i would definitely be happy with 300rwhp. haha thanks for the quick reply.
