i have a 347 stroker...and a brand new 5.0L, and tranny. both have 7000miles on them. when i first start the car i hear a really weird sound coming from the right side of the engine (sitting in the car) i cant really discribe it. It like a grinding..starting up noise. and i also hear a thud noise from the front right tire. could that be the breaks?

Is the sound only when you first start the car? Whered you get the engine?

When do you hear the "thud"

 

I hear a grinding like that on mine that I thought was coming out of the right side of the engine. It is from the transmission or somewhere in the clutch assembly. This may not be the case with yours unless it is from the clutch assembly maybe. I think you would know if it was coming from the tranny.
