My 88 LX Progress
Update:
2 very long stressful days of running back and forth to part source, canadian tire, the mechanic and laying under my car for sockets, o2 sensors, o2 sensor sockets, power steering fluid have come to an end!
The Story:
I needed to replace my o2 sensor ( 80 bucks ). I couldnt get the old one off no matter what i tried.. I tried every tool i had, bought the right socket tool for it, i used a torch to heat the metal around it, i used a hot air gun, penetrating rust spray.. i used all my strength laying upside down on the damn rusted bolt and it wouldnt budge.
So finally i call up a mechanic ( friend of the family ) and bring it down to him. He blasts the hell out of it with a huge torch. Used his air compressed sockets and busted the thing off.. Stupid me i forgot to bring the new one.. but he plugged the old one back so i could drive home without the thing sounding like a monster truck and only charged me 10 bucks for his time.
So i get home and the threads on the pipe were messed and i couldnt get the new one back in. not to mention the old plug fell out and left my car waking up the neighbourhood LOL. So i brought it back down to him. he had to make new threads and put the thing in on a slight angle.. BUT its in and doesnt sound like crap anymore!
Now iv gotta find a new project to do with my car.. Anyone got any ideas of things i could do to keep busy? Part changes? cheap good upgrades? fluid changes?
