Popped a Head Gasket??
This last winter I began to notice this: The coolant level in my 5.0 slowly goes down until its low and I have to refill it. Also, it seems like air keeps getting into the system although it hasn't happened since its been warmer outside; coolant still dropping though.
I started it up cold the other day, and torqued the motor w/the break on to about 2k rpm for about 30s, then shut the motor off. When I popped the rad cap coolant squirted out. Shouldn't the system not be under pressure while cold??
Think I have a popped gasket around a coolant line? Car runs well...

it doesn't take long to build up some pressure in the system, even right after start up, and if i were blown that bad to where it were pressurizing the cooling system, a block check kit would pick that up quick , so go put the kit and perform the test if you feel the gasket is blown.
Haven't noticed any coolant leaks anywhere in the system aside from right around the thermostat housing, and I stopped that one with a little smear of JB weld (I know: lazy).
I may pick up some dye and do a ultraviolet test...
