92 5.0 turns but wont start
would my engine still crank over if the cam is broken? this is what im thinking is wrong
changed/checked
fuel pump
fuel pump relay
fuel filter
fuel pressure

i did change out the coil, the fuel pump does prime.
heres about how it goes, i jump in turn the key it cranks over and doesn't fire, before it would fire if i sprayed some starter fluid in the throttle body, when i changed the PCM it worked but the timing was off. so my brother and i adjusted the timing. and when i jumped in i said "we all clear!?" he said yes when i went to start it up he looked like he just been shot. i get out to find that he left the ratchet attached to the crank pulley so im guessing it spun around and smacked the cam pulley. since than we can't get it to start with or without starter fluid and the dealer ran 3 hours worth of diagnostics and said in order to find the problem they will need to check the compression and tear it down. i rather them not.

stick a screwdriver in on of the wires while turning it over to make sure you are getting spark.
If you have spark, go back and check the firing order by a book.
I would do what Matt mentioned and make sure the distributor is installed correctly.
If everything you listed has been replaced, I would look at getting a new computer.
Also, when the fuel pressure was checked or ADJUSTED, you did use the bleed off on the tester to set it correctly?

well 1st off i want to say yes the waterpump pulley rather than the cam i am aware thats nonexistant. 2nd the dealer did replace the computer afterwards it ran but with crappy timing but we drove it home from the dealer (7miles) and we left it set for 3 days. at that time we adjusted the timing, he left the ratchet attached "BAM" it smacks my waterpump/fan pulley, and now doesnt start but let me add that when we let it sit for those 3 days i didnt think to fire it up again before doing the timing so i've no idea. could they really have given me a bad comp? again if my cam is damaged would i be able to use a 351w cam and heads with my stock intake and bbk headers? but only if thats the problem. its still at the dealer so i cant just run out back and check my dis. and plugs to see if its not properly in but it all turns like its suppose to
