You need to read my first post, I ran a 13.3 at a 1000ft track not a 1320ft track. 1320ft=1/4mile for your info
1000ft dosent =1/4mile
thanks

How much of difference did the gears make for you in terms of acceleration/highway passing etc ?

Thanks.
My speedo isnt corrected, but i am using my gps as a speedo rite now and at 70mph im at 2400rpm.
with the 2.73s at 70 i was around 1600rpm

Your difference could be tire size mabye? Also remember im running an AOD trans.
all i know is what my car is at, i have no reason to lie here.

heres a pic of one of my runs, im in the left lane, that pass was a 13.42, I dont have a scanner but here is my info on the 13.3 pass
60ft---2.4611
330ft----7.0124
1/8----10.5644
1/8th mph---70.64
1000ft-----13.3624
1000ftmph-----81.05

I dont see how you can call bs, when those time calculate to a low 15sec pass in the 1/4mile?
A 13.3 in a 1000ft is slooow. years ago i had an acura integra that was stock and it ran a 13.4

I took a hole second of my 1/4mile just from switching from the AOD to a T5. I had 4.10 gears to help it, and my AOD had a MEAN shift kit.

AOD's are just SLOW, and crappy in stock form.

If you wanna go fast (guessing you do with the 4.10's) to do it cheap, get a nitrous kit, and spray the car for a 100shot, that will take about 1.5-2 seconds off your E/T. Down the road you ether want to get a built AOD with a 3000RPM + stall, or go with a 5 speed.

good luck!

Thanks, Yea aod's definately soak up some power. This is a play/budget car, im going to do all the cheaper boltons first, and when the Aod blows, i will probly end up with a nice c4 setup. BTW I have a zex dry kit, but before i install im going to get a bigger fuel pump, bottle psi guage, bottle warmer, window swich, and install my aem wideband. But first i want to do: ele fan, a/c & smog delete, get my headers and x put on i recently ordered, underdrive pulleys. and mabye a flaming river manual rack.

Thats strange. My car is pretty much a carbon copy of yours, a 1992 LX with an AOD. It sits right on 2k rpm at 70MPH. I got it from a grandpa, so I doubt he swapped the gears on it. But, seeing your responses I might need to jack the car up and count the DS revolutions.

Oh and and it has stock 16inch ponies on it with 225/50/R16s tires.

You probably have the 3.08 gears instead of 2.73's

Man gator your car is a turd. My AODE GT(300lbs heavier and less HP) ran a 10.3 1/8th and I thought that was the slowest automatic GT around. But, when I swapped to 4.10's and a GT-40 intake manifold, my 1/8th dropped from a 10.1@71 to a 9.39@79 w/a 2.3 60ft

For correct speedometer reading, need to change both the gears for the speedometer.
