It is amazing you got those things to fit in there. I can't even set a tire in the trunk...

But no on the speakers, if my car is going to come apart, it will be from how hard I drive it...

you dont buy a mustang for dropping subs in the car...

I've found that the six speakers plus a sub works and sounds perfect in these cars. I have two Alpine 10s and honestly, it's a bit much. I plan on taking it down.

I have a 500 Fosgate amp, 4 polk audio speakers in the front (lost two when we rebuilt the door panels) and ONE 10" Fosgate Series 1 in the trunk. We also loaded the trunk down with Stinger sound deadener. It STILL rattles the **** out of the deck lid, spoiler, and license plate (we also put deadener on the back of the license plate too). I also have the speaker in a box, down in the spare tire well. When I cram the box up under where the top goes, it doesn't rattle QUITE as bad. Also, I just threw the sub into a cheapee 'truck' box like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Speak...kers#ht_500wt_

It's not pretty but it works for now.

That being said, I keep the amp dialed down to half and it sounds okay. Not going to win any competitions, but I just wanted to flesh out the sound and still have a little thump in the trunk. Let me say too - I have the Shaker 1000 in my 06 GT, and it rattles the **** out of it too. Therefore, rather than shake my car apart, I just keep the tunes down with a few rare occasions when I want to show off at a car show or something....

Also, I'm seriously considering getting two low profile 10's - they'll fit under the lowered top, against the rear seat, in a top-fire position. You might want to consider that - low profiles so you can fit them up against the rear seat.

I'll shut up now.

Edit: Sorry. I said low profile - meant "Shallow mount"

Example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KICKE...ht_3026wt_1169

my sister used to have 2 10" subs in her converterable. sounded good with the top up, but with the top down the top acted as sound deadening.

Yeah, not only is the top down a sound deadener, but you also gotta consider - with the top and windows down, the sound is no longer contained in a steel can as it were, its free to go off in any direction without something to hold it in the cab of the car....
