smog pump
i searched the forum and couldnt come up with an answer. i recently did my exhaust and kinda chopped up the smog pump tubing that ran back to the cats so now i have the rubber hose in my engine bay blowing air. sounds horrible. almost like an exhaust leak. so whats the easiest way to fix this? do i have to get a delete kit or could i just take the metal piping that runs to the back or the motor and plug the hole with a bolt? if it means anything im getting ready to install aftermarket underdrive pulleys. thanks
Yank it all. Totally useless system if you don't have cats installed.
The thread size in the head is 5/8-11.
The size of the thread in the Thermactor Plug (part # F4ZZ-6E086-A) is 5/16-18.
If you don't have the Thermactor Plugs in the heads, you can use a 5/8-11 x 3/4" long bolt from your local Hardware Store to plug the hole in the head. Most of the ones I have seen have had a 7/8" head on them.
You might have to clean out the carbon deposits in the threads if your heads have been run with the Thermactor Tube previously hooked up and if everything was in working order.
