Default 94 5.0 Exhaust Pypes Violator question

Hello,

I was originally looking in to getting magnapack magnagflows but i was told that they rust out very easily , and i was recommended to get the Pypes Violator system. As i did more research on the system i heard about people saying that it did not fit properly and that the pipes needed a bit of bending for the perfect fit, have any of you heard anything about this and can give me a bit more details about it. also what mid pipe would u suggest to get with this system for the best aggressive and loud sound, i live in Ontario so there is emmision regulations so it will have to have cats on it

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

Jason A.

i had the pypes violator system on my old 88gt. it did fit like crap and had an extra flange on the x-pipe which i was not a fan of. (the exhaust came on it). it also sounded like crap imo. i like the setup i have now on my 89gt and have no issues with rusting (been 3 years or so). i have an o/r h-pipe but you can get it with cats.

bbk unequal shorties
bbk o/r h-pipe
mac catback

check out the exhaust sticky to hear different options

mine is in there if you scroll down a bit.

um yes very similar. they have the SAME engine and the exhaust path is the same but might be slightly longer but will sound almost identical

the only real difference is the body styling and slightly better suspension components

I have a pypes catback on my 95GT. Fitment was fine and it seems like a quality piece. It sounds good at WOT and around 2500-3000rpm. It does sound a bit crummy when you are cruising and give it gas. Drone is minimal too.

Magnaflows are all stainless, i don't see how that would rust out easily.

i had the same problem with my magnapacks (rusting). the mufflers and tips themselves didnt rust, but the starter pipes and tails. it was almost instantly, like a week from me getting them. and the clamps that come with the exhaust are very cheap, and i had some HORRIBLE luck getting that exhaust to line up too. i had an OR X at the time so i thought that might be the issue, but when i had to go through emissions again, my stock H didnt line up either. for the price i paid for that exhaust (almost $500), Magnaflow will NOT be getting my business again.
as for Pypes, i never had a problem with their cat back, and actually used it as a "map" to bend my 3" exhaust. if you use a real X exhaust, (not a BBK or something like that. my Summit had a real X in it. not bad for $130), i think the exhaust sounds AMAZING. especially at WOT and around 2500-3000 where is gets a nice "scream" to it.
dollar for dollar, i think either Pypes, Spintech, or Bassani is the way to go. i like the sound of Mac cat backs, OR X and longtubes, but ive heard that Mac mufflers rust out. maybe not, but i never had a problem with my Pypes.

dam that is horrible, i would have been on the phone with Magnaflow in 2 seconds if i had those results. My Flowmasters didn't even have any rust on them after a few years.
