whats going on everyone im new here and neew to mustangs ive been building hondas for 9 yrs but i got a questions i just replaced the ignition switch and ignition cyclinder in my 88 mustang lx 5.0 and it still wont start i jumped the ignition coil and it turns over... now my question is is there a relay or fuse under the hood because the last time i started it, it looked like a cloud of smoke under the hood........ can someone please help me

You might check the fusible links coming off of the battery side of the starter solenoid.
Id the car an automatic or 5-speed. It could be the clutch pedal switch if it's a 5-speed or the neutral safety switch if it is an automatic.

Did you do the basic tests with a test light to make sure you are getting power to the solenoid via the ignition switch wire? Did you try to start the vehicle in neutral?
