Engine cleaning tips

hey was wondering whats the best products i can use to clean the outside look of the engine of my 89 mustang LX. I want to polish it up and my headers are all rusty anyone know how to get rust off?

most people use a high temp paint for headers to give them the ceramic look. These are ceramic headers but, you get the point.
