Default mustang cam question

ok The mustang I bought 2 months ago cam with alot of papers (receipts and such). what I'm wondering is the previous owner told me it was a e-303 cam. but from my searching an e-303 camshaft has a lift of .498, the paper i have from the engine shop where the motor was rebuilt says 512 lift. that should make it a f-303 cam shouldn't it? i don't know anything about cam's so i don't know maybe you can increase lift?

thanks in advance.

If you pull the timing cover and chain off you can look at the end of the cam and tell you which one it is. Coming straight off the cam no you can't increase the lift straight off the cam, it is increased with the rocker arms.

im going to have to do that because owner said E303 but engine builder says cam has .512 lift so only way to find out is to call the builder or take it apart myself.

no. I could probably get one...only put 500km on the rebuilt motor so i never had time to do a lot of things with it because of the snow. you can tell it's got a cam. it shakes the car at idle. but that's all i know. i can try to get a video of it tonight if i can find some descent booster cables. is there a noticeable difference in idle between the two?

it's definitly not an f...sounds like it stumbles too much to be mine. e sounds the closest. and i can't tell if its a b because that guy's exhaust sounds horrible in the clip. but that sounds like the exhaust goes up and down too much to be mine. i'd say mine is a e but then why the hell did the engine builder put .512 lift. and the letter cam it is on the sheet is either a b or e but its all a bunch of henscratch

The B-cam has a very lumpy sounding idle. I had one laying around here and was going to throw it on my GT-40 combo I have. But then I realized, that it was just a letter cam and so I sold it last week.

it's got to be an e cam. that sounds just like my car...even sounds like my dual flowmaster super 44's.
