I ran a 100hp shot on mine your several years. Stock everything except air filter and exhaust and 3.55 gears. Run a wet system and it will last forever.
On a set of worn out slicks, mine went 7.96 @ 87mph in the 1/8 mile drive easy enough not to break something because it was my only DD. That's 12:40's in the 1/4 mile. All I used was a toggle switch to power the system and a push button on the shifter t-handle to activate the system. Not easy on a 5-speed car, but never blew it up or missed a gear
Was pretty useless on street tires until about 3rd gear.
So from personal experience, 100hp is safe.

nitrous doesn't break motors any faster than any other way you pack more air into a combustion chamber
in fact it's a little more forgiving since if your close to detonation... -500 degrees seems to help it cool down a bit
people don't blow $hit up BECAUSE of nitrous... they blow $hit up cuz they overpowered something, had some other problem to begin with that the extra power couldn't handle or were simply stupid
if you tried to squirt 250 on a stock motor it won't last long... just like if you tried to use a blower with 25 lbs of boost on the same thing
50-125 is more than safe, make sure the fuel pump is up to snuff and the injectors are good to go
the statement that going wet and it will last forever ??? thats personal preference... but nitrous is not flammable. the fuel is the flammable part. so when you see an intake explode.. thats the fuel that puddled in the intake and ignited... not nitrous. the nitrous just gave the explosion more oxygen to feed from.
spraying nitrous is simply injecting liquid oxygen rather than packing it in with a blower or turbo, it's a chemical reaction then the single nitrogen splits and you have 2 parts of o2 left to feed the combustion process.... yup it really is that simple
